2. The computer's operating system. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website: What Operating System do I have
3. Have you installed any new hardware on this computer, before the issue appeared?
4. Have you installed any new software or drivers on this computer, before the issue appeared?
In the meantime, please follow the troubleshooting in this HP document and provide the results (though some troubleshooting cannot be performed, based on your operating system). It will assist you in adjusting correct settings, and troubleshooting generic sound issues: No Sound from the Speakers or Headphones (Windows 7)
